The Anambra State Ministry of Lands, Awka, hereby announces the commencement of the mandatory Revalidation and Recertification of all land title documents, including those for both State and Private lands.
All landowners in Anambra State are required to visit the Ministry of Lands, Awka, to recertify and revalidate their title documents and landholdings. This initiative aims to review and update land records, enhance plot holder information, and upgrade survey records from Nigerian/local coordinates to Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) standards. It will also strengthen property title security and ensure compliance with State regulations in line with global best practices.
The recertification/revalidation exercise will begin on November 4th, 2024, and will end on April 28th, 2025. The process will be carried out in batches as outlined below:
(1). Batch A – Awka and Its Environs :
a. Iyiagu Layout/ Abuja Housing Estate
b. Agu-Awka GRA,
c. Awka Industrial Layout/Millennium City Layout
d. Executive Business District (EBD)
e. Isiagu Layout
f. Registered Private properties within Awka North & South.

(2). Batch B – Aguata, Idemili, Nnewi and Its Environs :
All registered title within Nnewi, Idemili and Aguata both State & Private owned properties.

(3) Batch C – Onitsha and Its Environs :
a. G.R.A Onitsha
b. Akpaka Layout

e. Trans Nkissi Phase 3
f. Fegge /Otumoye Creek Layout, Harbour Industrial Layout
g. Other registered documents within Onitsha, Oyi, Anambra East & Ogbaru, both State and Private owned properties.

All landowners participating in the recertification and revalidation process are required to submit the following documents:
a. Copies of title documents, including Certificate of Occupancy, Deed of Assignment, Building Lease, Allocation Letters, or any other proof of ownership of land or property in the State.
b. Originals of the title documents for verification.
c. A recent photograph of the applicant.
d. Receipt or evidence of payment for the revalidation/recertification process.
e. Notification of any unapproved changes in land use or subdivisions, (if applicable).
The public is strongly advised to comply and ensure their documents are recertified and revalidated within the specified period to avoid any legal or administrative complications.
