n another transformative move, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe (Esq) had during the weekend led members of management and staff of the ministry on an information-sharing and working visit to the office of Edo State Geographic Information Services (EDOGIS) in Edo State.

The visit which was a part of a long drawn innovative master plan of the workaholic Anambra State Hon Commissioner for Lands, Prof Offornze Amucheazi SAN, presented an impactful platform for members of management and staff of Anambra State Ministry of Lands to exchange valuable operational ideas with staff of Edo State Geographic Information Services on how best they deploy geographic Information technology in achieving timely and proper land administration.

During the visit, the permanent secretary Barr. Mokwe expressed delight at the striking operational similarities in terms of optimal service delivery between ANAMGIS and EDOGIS while the host and Managing Director of Edo State Geographic Information Services, ESV (Mrs) Osaro Grace Aihie took time to take the delegation on an operational tour of all the  units at the EDOGIS office.

Other members on the Anambra State Ministry of Lands’ delegation included but not limited to the Surveyor General, Mr Chinedu Idigo; HOD Lands, Mrs Chineze Obih; Deputy Registrar Deeds, Mrs Rita Anarado as well as HOD PRS, Mrs Ngozi Omejieke.

 

 The guest speaker who was full of commendations for the Hon Commissioner for Lands, Prof Offornze Amucheazi SAN for his transformational leadership which aligns perfectly with the vision of Anambra State Ministry of Lands, charged them to always endeavor to work in manners that would help the Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR in driving his agenda of a achieving and sustaining a liveable and prosperous society.

Mr Fowowe while adding that the Hon Commissioner has shown intentional commitment to making Anambra State Ministry of Lands number one and a reference point for other States in Nigeria in terms of progressive land administration encouraged the staff to always have the vision statement of the ministry in their mind as well as collaborate with the Commissioner in achieving the ministry’s set objectives for the good of the State as land resources have universal usage.

In their separate remarks, the permanent secretary, Barr Nkeiru Mokwe and the commissioner for lands, Prof Offornze Amucheazi, SAN thanked the guest speaker for the impactful training session and enjoined members of staff to have result-oriented attitude to their duties for posterity sake.

The management and staff of Anambra State Ministry of Lands have been charged to continue to uphold their culture of professionalism while carrying out their duties.

A guest speaker, Mr Praise Fowowe gave the charge during a zoom interactive training session organized for the management and staff of Anambra State Ministry of Lands.

According to Mr Fowowe, the quality of the staff of the ministry would impact either positively or negatively on the quality of outputs of the ministry calling on them never to allow their personal interests override the overall public interest of the ministry which supports the vision of the ministry for a liveable and prosperous Anambra State through appropriate land administration.

He also admonished them against abusing their respective offices as “Public service work place is not a place to solely make money but a platform to serve your people and build an incredible track record that speaks in your absence and could deliver value you want to create on the long run for yourself and generation unborn”

MANAGEMENT AND STAFF OF ANAMBRA STATE MINISTRY OF LANDS MOURN LATE PROF.(MRS) AMUCHEAZI.

The Management and Staff of Anambra State Ministry of Lands today, 25th May, 2024, during a condolence visit, paid last respect to Late Prof. (Mrs) Ogo Nancy Amucheazi (Ogo Dame), the mother of the Anambra State Commissioner for Lands, Prof Offornze Dike Amucheazi(SAN).

The condolence delegation ably led by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe(Esq) had in attendance the Surveyor General, Mr Chinedu Idigo; HOD Lands, Mrs Chineze Obih, among others.

In a condolence message, the ministry encouraged the Hon. Commissioner and the whole Amucheazi family to take solace in the worthy legacy left behind by their late mother and wife praying that God grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The Permanent Secretary, Anambra State Ministry  of Lands, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe (ESQ) has charged staff of the ministry on effective service delivery.

Speaking During her maiden meeting with the staff of the ministry’s complex. Mrs Mokwe  (ESQ) also commended the Commissioner for Lands, Prof Offornze Amucheazi, (SAN) for being a ‘go getter’ and his understanding nature advised the staff not to abuse the previlege given to them by the commissioner. 

She stressed the need for staff to develop a good working attitude towards their duties as according to her, dereliction of duty in civil service is truancy and as such would attract serious disciplinary measure.

The Permanent secretary encouraged staff of the ministry to be time-conscious as appropriate time management is pivotal in land administration.

She further harped on the need for teamwork among staff and enjoined them to always use every opportunity given to them to prove their worth and do what is right at all times as their committed to duties would never go unrewarded.

Mrs Mokwe  (ESQ) enjoined staff to make use of refectory created for them by the commissioner as it will help them to have a clean and tidy environment.

The permanent secretary also urged staff to wear the ministry’s uniform every Friday as a mark of uniqueness and i dentification and suggested that the uniform should also be used for their month exercise routine.

In a vote of thanks on behalf of the staff of the ministry, Mr Emmanuel Morah, thanked the permanent secretary for her words and pledge their maximum co-operation in lifting the ministry to a greater height.

PUBLIC NOTICE ON COMPENSATORY PLOTS IN OBA AIRPORT AREA, AND TRANS-NKISI LAYOUT, ONITSHA

The attention of Ministry of Lands, Anambra State has been drawn to the dubious activities of some unscrupulous persons who are collecting money from unsuspecting members of the public, in disguise of assisting them to settle issues regarding compensatory plots of land within the Oba Airport area in Idemili South Local Government Area and Trans-Nkisi Layout area in Onitsha.


The Ministry of Lands wishes to state as follows:

1. Members of the public are advised to be wary of the dubious activities of these unscrupulous person/s in respect of parcels of land in the said Oba Airport area and Trans-Nkisi Layout area, Onitsha.

2. The Ministry has not asked and will not ask any person/s to collect money from members of the public, for settlement of any issue regarding the aforementioned areas. Therefore anyone giving money to any person/s allegedly for the Ministry does so at his/her own risk.

3. Any person/s who has/have any doubt or inquiry to make with regards to compensatory lands within the Oba Airport area in Idemili South Local Government Area and Trans-Nkisi Layout, area, Onitsha, should kindly visit Ministry of Lands Office, Awka. The Ministry of Lands operates an open door policy, therefore Commissioner, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands and the Director of Lands are all accessible by members of the public for all inquiries.


The Ministry of Lands is by this notice, warning all unscrupulous elements who are using the office’s name to validate their dubious activities to desist forthwith as legal actions including criminal prosecution would be taken against such persons if caught.

The General Public should take note.

ANAMBRA LANDS’ COMMISSIONER PROF AMUCHEAZI CHARGES JOURNALISTS ON CONSTRUCTIVE REPORTAGE IN THE STATE

The Anambra State Commissioner for Lands Prof Offornze Amucheazi (SAN) has charged media practitioners in the state to continue to discharge their duties in the most professional manners.

He gave the charge when he received the management team of Blaze 91.5FM and Ijele 93.1FM Oraifite who were on courtesy visit to his office in Awka.

The Hon Commissioner while enumerating the ongoing transformations in land administration under the Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR’s led-government in Anambra State thanked the visiting management team of Blaze FM and Ijele FM for their intention to partner with the Ministry.

Earlier in an address, the leader of the delegation Mr Chu Nwankwo who is the Head of Ijele 91.5FM noted that their visit was to foster better communication and collaboration between their Radio Stations and Anambra State Ministry of Lands.

According to Mr Nwankwo the partnership would particularly benefit the Ministry by giving its activities wider publicity.

Other members of the management team that partook in the meeting were Mr Leonard Onah, Head of Programmes, Ijele FM and Mr Ifediorah Thagbo, Head of Station, Blaze FM.

ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT RE-STATES COMMITMENT IN ENCOURAGING SYNERGY AMONG MINISTRIES, DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES FOR BETTER SERVICE DELIVERY

The Anambra State Government under the leadership of Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR has re-stated its commitment in ensuring that the existing synergy among ministries, departments and agencies is sustained for better service delivery.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Lands, Prof Offornze Amucheazi, SAN, made this known when he received a delegation of Bayelsa State Investment Promotion Agency who were on a working visit at his office in Awka.

The Bayelsa State Investment Promotion Agency team led by Patience Ranami Abah, Esq, was accompanied on the visit by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, (ANSIPPA) Mr Mark Okoye.

The Commissioner noted that for an effective and efficient service delivery to be achieved by any government that there must be a culture of teamwork as presently encouraged in Anambra State Government circle by the Soludo-led administration.

He particularly declared that the collaboration between Ministry of Lands and the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency has brought in great investment opportunities in the State.

Prof Amucheazi also added that the present Soludo-led government is intentionally and passionately investing heavily in infrastructural development as that attracts private sector-driven investments into the state.

 

He further stated that Anambra State being one of the disadvantaged sub-nationals in Nigeria in terms of land mass, has left the present administration in the State with no choice than deploying every available land resources for investment purposes for the overall good of the citizens.

The Lands’ Commissioner while explaining that the upcoming new Awka two point zero as well as the new Onitsha two point zero which would be executed through Public-Private Partnership(PPP) are tailored to complement the two existing cities with state-of-the-art-facilities,encouraged the Bayelsa delegation to channel the huge land resources of Bayelsa State for investment purposes.

 

Earlier in an address, Dr Patterson Ogoun who represented the Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government and led the Bayelsa delegation stated that the team was in Anambra State to seek collaboration with ANSIPPA as well as to  exchange investment ideas with other relevant Anambra State Government ministries like Ministry of Lands on areas of common interests between the two sub-nationals.

The attention of Ministry of Lands, Anambra State has been drawn to the activities of a land racketeering syndicate within one of Anambra State Government’s landed assets known as Parcel A, B, C, and D situate along Isiagu-Nibo-Umuawulu axis in Awka South Local Government Area.

The Ministry wishes to state as follows:

1. The said parcels of land belong to the Anambra State Government.

2. The Ministry implores unsuspecting members of the public particularly land buyers to be wary of the activities of this land racketeering syndicate in Parcel A, B, C and D as such land transaction is at their own risks.

The Ministry, is by this notice warning land grabbers and person(s) in the habit of encroaching on Anambra State Government land to
desist from any further interference or trespass as the State Government shall take all legal steps towards recovering the land including criminal prosecution.

COMMISSIONER FOR LANDS, ANAMBRA STATE, PROF AMUCHEAZI CHARGES MANAGEMENT AND STAFF TO IMPROVE ON SERVICE DELIVERY IN LANDS ADMINISTRATION

The Commissioner for Lands, Anambra State, Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, SAN has charged the management and staff of the Ministry to improve their commitment towards ensuring improved service delivery in land administration to Ndi Anambra, this new working year through re-dedication to their assigned responsibilities.

Prof Amucheazi who commended the management and staff for all they achieved in the preceding year, 2023 noted that there is room for improvement.

He made this call during a praise and worship session held at the Ministry of Lands’ premises, Awka to officially mark the resumption of duties for year 2024.

The Commissioner called on the management and staff of the ministry to be God-fearing and always put God first in all their dealings as he alone controls the universe and all that concerns us.

 

Prof Offornze Amucheazi while declaring that year 2024 would be marked with capacity development training and re-training for management and staff for optimal performance added that the ministry would not witness any sorrowful event this working year.

Officiating during the praise and worship session, Ven. Arinze Egemba of the Cathedral Church of the Good Shepherd, Enugu urged the management and staff of the ministry to make integrity their watchword as well as to have good working relationship with one another.

Ven. Egemba noted that it would be in the Ministry’s best interest when management and staff shun corruption of any kind in their service delivery as well as lands administration  and transactions as land has both physical and spiritual implications.

The Clergyman prayed God Almighty to continue guiding and protecting the Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo,CFR in his onerous task of delivering good and people-oriented governance to Ndi Anambra and commended the Commissioner for Lands, Prof Offornze Amucheazi for starting the new working year with management and staff of the ministry with God.

 

The praise and worship session attracted all members of staff and management of the ministry including the immediate past Permanent Secretary, Mr Edwin Ejike; Ag Director Lands, Mrs Chineze Obih; Surveyor General, Mr Chinedu Idigo; Chief Deed Officer/Deputy Registrar of Deeds, Mrs. Anarado Rita; Director Account, Mrs Adaeze Egwuatu; Director Town Planning, Mrs Ifeyinwa Onyeji among others.
